God has called VisionTrust in partnership with people like you to meet the physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of orphaned and neglected children. This holistic approach not only ensures that each child receives food for life here on earth, but eternal food for life in heaven. Jesus said in Luke 4:4 that, “Man does not live on bread alone.”  Matt serves as the President of Vision Trust International.

Encounter Church partners with Vision Trust by supporting orphans in the small village of Cruz Blanca in Guatemala.  Vision Trust's work in Guatemala began right about the time our church was starting.  Our desire is to have great focus with getting to know these kids and develop long term relationship with the work going on there.

24 children are supported by families at Encounter. During July 20-27, 2010 a team of 16 adults and teens traveled to Guatemala and did some work building latrines and stoves as well as some Vacation Bible School with the children.  They had an awesome time building community with each other and serving the community in Cruz Blanca and El Yalu.

We will participate in Orphan Sunday on November 7, 2010  to take time to pray for the children we support and remember God's heart for the orphans around the world.

Full-time staff provide leadership and direction to the campus ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, which is a network of vibrant, growing movements on 1,029 campuses in the United States and beyond. Proven and diverse outreach strategies expose millions of students to the gospel each year. Over the past five years, more than 37,900 students made a decision to become a Christian through Campus Crusade for Christ. Our purpose is thus, to help launch and build movements of spiritual multiplication on college campuses so that everyone will know someone who truly follows Jesus Christ. This accomplished through our 3 core values. Win-Build-Send. Winning lost students for Christ through initiative evangelism, building them up in their faith through Bible study and discipleship, and then sending them out to be Christ-centered laborers wherever God takes them.

Encounter Church is partnering with Real Life Ministry by being a host church quarterly for their Thursday night meeting.  Our goal is to support Ryan and begin relationships with college students for the purpose of evangelism and helping them see the importance of the local church in a believer's life.
